  • Achieving Energy Efficiency with Simple Technologies

    Wednesday, January 27, 2010 | 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
The New York Academy of Sciences

Presented by the Green Buildings Discussion Group

    • Registration Closed

This panel will highlight two examples of innovative design processes resulting in cost-effective energy efficient solutions. Baldor Specialty Foods recently moved into a larger refrigerated warehouse with increased cooling load, but the energy use remained the same due to improvements in mechanical, lighting and building envelope system. In planning the new Maurice J. Gallagher Jr. Hall on the U.C. Davis campus, Sasaki, the A&E for the project, took a holistic approach to sustainability to develop a low-energy and low-water use office building and conference center. Leading the discussion is Bert Gregory, President and CEO of Mithun architects, who has led the firm to be nationally recognized for concept-based, environmentally intelligent design

This program qualifies for two professional development hours (PDHs) for Professional Engineers or two learning units (LUs) for Licensed Architects under sponsorship of New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) . To receive these credits, obtain the supplemental registration form at the meeting and submit to NYIT along with a $50 registration fee.
