  • Quantitative Approaches in Immuno-Oncology

    Wednesday, March 1, 2017 | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
The New York Academy of Sciences

Presented by the Cancer & Signaling Discussion Group

      • Registration Closed

Immunotherapy is changing the face of cancer treatment, providing significant inroads into treating a complicated spectrum of disease. However in order to best capitalize on emerging data and develop unique approaches to broadening the benefits of treatment, there is an important need to identify cross-disciplinary synergies. In response to this need, Quantitative Immuno-Oncology—sitting at the interface between immuno-oncology and quantitative approaches from mathematics, physics, and computer science—has emerged as a field that can significantly advance our ability to interpret existing large datasets, and perform predictive analyses. This symposium will explore this promising field, covering the breadth of approaches needed to quantify interactions between tumors and the immune system, and providing a foundation from which novel immunotherapeutic strategies may be identified.

Preceding this symposium, on February 27–28, The Mushett Family Foundation, Science, Science Immunology, Science Translational Medicine, and The New York Academy of Sciences will present Frontiers in Cancer Immunotherapy. This conference will cover the latest on immunotherapeutic strategies that are currently being employed to treat some of the most devastating forms of cancer and features a keynote lecture from James P. Allison (University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center).
