Join us for cocktails and dinner to celebrate Translational Science at our Eighth Annual Science & the City Gala!

The Science & the City Gala gathers renowned scientists, leaders of industry, and talented young scientists to honor leaders in research and science outreach and to celebrate the annual announcement of the Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists. This year our theme is Translational Science, an emerging field focusing on the transfer of basic scientific discoveries into the development of new methods for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease in humans.

This year we will also be recognizing the outgoing chair of our Board of Governors, John E. Sexton, the President of New York University, for his many years of dedicated service to the Academy.

Finally, don't miss the 2011 Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists, which will recognize innovative accomplishments by postdoctoral fellows and young faculty in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut with unrestricted financial prizes for both finalists and awardees.

The Science & the City Gala is an invitation-only event.
