Comprehensive Campaign

For nearly 200 years, the New York Academy of Sciences has served as a symbol of innovation and a neutral nexus for the international scientific community. As our 2017 bicentennial rapidly approaches, the third oldest scientific organization in the United States has embarked on a $25 million Comprehensive Campaign: "Sustainability through Science & Technology." The Campaign will assure our sustainability and longevity, making the Academy a fully effective organization and providing a vital bridge to our future.

To achieve this goal, the Academy seeks the support of visionary benefactors to make a financial commitment to the Comprehensive Campaign. The Academy is proud of our many dynamic programs, and of the important role we play in building bridges between institutions, and between science and society. But we face serious challenges. Your contribution will help us increase the impact of the activities at the center of the Academy's mission: promoting science literacy, convening scientific conferences, and disseminating the latest information related to science and technology.

How to Support our Comprehensive Campaign

The Academy offers many avenues for supporters to donate. Your contribution will benefit our work and provide a tax benefit.

• Online Credit Card Donation: Use our secure online donation form now.
• Cash/Check: You can mail a check in any amount, made payable to the New York Academy of Sciences. Please be sure to include your name and address so that we can properly acknowledge your gift for tax purposes.
• Naming and Donor Recognition Opportunities: A way to leave a legacy at the Academy or to make a tribute or memorial gift in honor of someone special.
• Personal Property/Real Estate: Consider making a gift of personal property or real estate. Your gift will benefit the Academy immeasurably.
• Foreign Currency: The Academy welcomes gifts of foreign currency. We recently established a UK charity for Members living in Britain.
• Stocks/Securities: These gifts provide relief to the donor from capital gains taxes.
• Matching Gifts: Does your company match charitable donations? If so, consider a matching gift to the Academy.
• Bequests: Designate all or a portion of your estate to the Academy through your will.
