The Academy undertook a survey of public opinion to gauge level of the public's concern about environmental issues in the NY-NJ Harbor Watershed. These results helped to shape the pollution prevention and outreach strategies for the Harbor project.

Optimizing Contaminant Trackdown Efforts at Publicly Owned Treatment Works: A Compendium.
The Harbor Project, funded by the U.S. EPA, convened a discussion group and conducted a series of meetings to identify the best strategies for conducting contaminant trackdown efforts at Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTWs) in order to properly characterize contaminant sources discharged to wastewater treatment plant’s sewerage districts. This publication compiles papers on the topic contributed by several discussion group participants as well as by other scientists.
