Condensed Matter Physics
Graduate students from the greater New York City metropolitan area organize the Gotham Metro Condensed Matter Meeting, held each semester since its launch in spring 2009. The goal of the meeting is provide investigators in the field of condensed matter—both hard and soft—within a day’s commute of New York City a chance to meet and forge new collaborations, while giving graduate students opportunities for professional development. The meeting features two plenary speakers, one in hard matter and one in soft matter, student presentations and an extensive student poster session.
