  • Predictive Toxicology Discussion Group

Toxicity identified during clinical trials is a major cause of failure during drug development. To make this process more efficient, and to prevent unforeseen health problems caused by drugs, researchers are seeking new methods to predict toxic effects early in the development process.

The Predictive Toxicology Discussion Group brings together experts from basic research and toxicologists, traditionally based in drug development, to discuss new techniques that could increase the predictive power of toxicology studies. Scientists working at the forefront of their discipline discuss their research and how new advances in science and technology can be applied to improve toxicology.

By providing a neutral forum for toxicologists to collaborate with their cross-disciplinary colleagues, this group is working to facilitate the adoption of faster, low-cost, high-throughput assays; better prediction of toxic responses; and an improved understanding of the underlying molecular mechanisms contributing to a toxic response.
