Frontiers of Science is the Academy’s core program for convening scientific conferences and symposia. Bringing together international experts and partners from academia, industry, government, and beyond, Frontiers of Science provides a neutral forum for participants to exchange information on basic and applied research and on the broader role of science, medicine, and technology in society.
Frontiers of Science organizes approximately 12-14 interdisciplinary international conferences each year on frontier basic or applied research fields and on the broader roles of science and technology in society. We also run an extensive schedule of events organized around interdisciplinary discussion groups focused on current topics in the life sciences, physical sciences, and green science and sustainability, totaling approximately 80 meetings each year. Each discussion group meets several times annually, building communities with similar scientific interests, and providing a unique opportunity to learn about the latest scientific developments.
Proceedings of most Frontiers of Science events are published through our eBriefings and/or the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences. Members of the New York Academy of Sciences are entitled to free or discounted admission to all Frontiers of Science events, and to free online access to all publications that result from the meetings.
