  • Deborah E. Wiley

    Deborah E. Wiley is a sixth-generation descendent of the founder of John Wiley & Sons, Inc. She currently serves as the company's Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications, and was a member of its Board of Directors from 1979 through 1998.

    She holds leadership positions in a number of industry organizations, such as, Chairman of the Association of American Publishers' International Copyright Protection Committee, and Board member of the Book Industry Study Group. Deborah also serves as Chairman of the Wiley Foundation, which awards the annual Wiley Prize in Biomedical Sciences. She serves on the Department of Commerce Industry Trade Advisory Committees (ITAC) and is a member of the Board of Governors of the New York Academy of Sciences. She is also on the Board of The National Book Foundation, having previously served as its chairman for eleven years.

    Active in philanthropy for educational and cultural institutions, Deborah has been a trustee for the Caedmon School, Pine Manor College, the Aloha Foundation, and Colgate University. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Southern Vermont College and Kent Place School. She also serves on the Board of Directors of The Good Dog Foundation and is a member of the Initiative to Educate Afghan Women Advisory Board.
