The 2013 installment of the annual series The Year in Cognitive Neuroscience features seven articles honoring the work and life of Jon Driver. Papers by Tim Shallice, Geraint Rees, Sven Bestmann, Charles Spence, Patrik Vuilleumier, Glyn Humphreys, and Christian Ruff review the numerous scientific contributions Jon Driver made; in addition, Shallice pays tribute to Jon’s personal qualities and history. The issue features two additional in-depth reviews unrelated to the Driver tribute: Tyler Davis and Russell A. Poldrack discuss the practice and pitfalls of measuring neural representations with functional magnetic resonance (fMRI) imaging; and Thomas Suddendorf and Jonathan Redshaw discuss the development of mental scenario building and episodic foresight through early childhood.
