Michael Zigman

President and CEO, NYC FIRST

Michael Zigman is President and CEO of NYC FIRST, the regional division of FIRST, the largest international robotics competition in the world. Prior to NYC FIRST, he was co-founder of i2 Learning, which partners with schools and districts across the United States and around the world to provide immersive STEM programs. From 2011 through 2013, Mr. Zigman served in senior operations and finance positions at Nanotronics Imaging and Systar SA, enterprise software companies targeting the semiconductor industry and the business activity monitoring market, respectively. Prior to Nanotronics, Mr. Zigman served for 17 years in the financial technology and investment banking industries, as Managing Director at both WR Hambrecht + Co, the pioneer of the Dutch auction IPO, and SoundView Technology Group, a spin-out of Gartner Group, the world's leading IT research firm. He began his career at Dean Witter Reynolds.

Mr. Zigman serves on the Board of Trustees of The Macaulay Honors College Foundation. Macaulay Honors College is the highly selective honors college of The City University of New York. The City University of New York is the world's largest urban public university and is comprised of 23 institutions serving over 250,000 students. He also serves on the Board of Directors of hackNY, which federates the next generation of hackers for the New York innovation community. Mr. Zigman holds a BA from Dartmouth College.
