
Atinuke (Tina) Oyeniya
Chief of Staff to VP of Engineering & Technology, Collins Aerospace
As Chief of Staff, Tina provides full support to the Vice President of Engineering & Technology. This includes working closely alongside business unit vice presidents and engineering leadership to compile and review complex data, prepare detailed reports on technology innovations and urgent issues, and develop formalized presentations for customer meetings and various industry engagements. Tina also performs a wide variety of special assignments, including coordination of critical company-wide events and initiatives such as periodic reviews with United Technologies’ CEO and CTO.
Previously, Tina was a Program Chief Engineer in Rockford, IL overseeing schedule, budget, documentation and successful execution for the complete electric systems suite, including primary, secondary, auxiliary and emergency power generation systems. Her consistent technical execution and reliable decision-making was crucial to meeting tight program budgets and customer milestones.
From 2012 to 2015, Tina was a member of the company’s exclusive and challenging Engineering & Technology Rotation Program. This consisted of short-term, high-visibility assignments: Systems Integration Engineer in Wolverhampton, UK responsible for verification and validation of system-level design requirements and test analysis; Boeing 787-9 Flight Test Engineer in Seattle, WA, providing on-site tech support for all company systems; and Air Management Systems Project Engineer in Windsor Locks, CT, managing all aspects of several multi-million dollar projects from initiation through certification.
Tina started her career at UTC as a mechanical operations summer intern. In the time since, she’s earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering and an MBA from the University of Connecticut, as well as a Master of Science degree in systems design & management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is also a certified Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute.
Tina is a member of the Society of Women Engineers and National Society for Black Engineers. She previously served as the UTAS Rockford African American Forum employee resource group president and continues to be active in many UTC diversity initiatives and recruiting. She is very passionate about STEM and continues to volunteer her time with a variety of STEM initiatives that support encouraging the next generation to pursue STEM fields.
