Confronting Climate Change: A Scientific Expert Panel Report
Tuesday, February 27, 2007
Presented By
Presented by the New York Academy of Sciences, Sigma Xi and the UN Foundation
The Academy is joining with Sigma Xi, the international scientific honorary society, and the UN Foundation to host this event discussing a new report on climate change that will be released earlier that day. The report, produced by an expert group formed by Sigma Xi, was developed as input for the UN Division for Sustainable Development. It offers an overview of the scientific literature on climate change and also discusses new and innovative ways to combat the problem. This event features four esteemed members of the committee who created the report, and will offer a unique opportunity for the New York-area scientific community to discuss the group's findings.
Academy President Ellis Rubinstein and Sigma Xi President James Baur will offer introductory remarks.
