
Sustain What? The Mission to Explore and Conserve Biodiversity

Join Harvard biologist E.O. Wilson and Peter Raven, Director of the Missouri Botanical Gardens as they discuss the importance of species exploration and the future of taxonomy. Learn about how scientists are forming a 50-year plan to explore and discover 90% of earth species, as well as anticipate the scientific and societal impacts of such a transformative big-science project.
At the event, Wilson and Raven will receive the Linnaean Legacy Award, given jointly by the International Institute for Species Exploration and the Linnaean Society of London in recognition of exceptional contributions to the science of taxonomy.
Teachers will have a special opportunity to learn about how scientists are forming a 50-year plan to explore and discover 90% of earth species, as well as anticipate the scientific and societal impacts of such a transformative big-science project.
