Main Presentation:
A Unified View of Communication
Speaker: Sotirios Kitsopoulos, PhD

Without communication there is neither life nor mind. We examine why--in terms of evolution and linguistics, philosophy and neuroscience, communication science and technology

Sotiris received his High School Diploma in Athens in 1947; he continued with studies in Electrical Engineering in Switzerland leading to a PhD from the ETH in Zurich. He first worked at IBM's Research Laboratory in Zurich, then spent 30 years in R&D at Bell Labs. He is the founding partner of Euclid Consulting, New York, NY, a Certified Management Consultant, and a licensed psychotherapist in the State of NY. He has thirteen patents and has published three books as well as several articles in professional journals.

He notes: Athens imbued me with the classics (I published two volumes of poetry), Zurich with the love of hard work, precision and quality (several publications and an electrical engineering book). The US spurred me to develop my creativity (13 patents and many original publications) and an entrepreneurial spirit (three start-ups only one of which survived!).
