The Blavatnik Regional Awards for Young Scientists recognize outstanding young post-doctoral researchers under the age of 42 from institutions across the states of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Every year, one Winner and two Finalists are selected in each of the three categories of Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, and Chemistry, with Winners receiving $30,000 each and Finalists receiving $10,000 each, all in unrestricted funds.

The nominations window for the 2019 Blavatnik Regional Awards is open from December 5, 2018 to January 30, 2019. Nominations are accepted from research universities, independent research institutions, academic medical centers, and government laboratories in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. A list of eligible institutions is available here.

In this free, one-hour webinar, Dr. Victoria Cleave, Director of the Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists, will give a short overview of the Blavatnik Regional Awards program, summarize the nominations and judging process, and discuss how to prepare nominations materials that address the four evaluation criteria of the Awards: Quality, Impact, Novelty, and Promise. Questions will be taken at the end of the presentation.
