Burnout is a systemic issue faced by scientists at all levels. It’s driven by heavy workloads, inconsistent feedback, and unhealthy mindsets that are reinforced among colleagues and mentors. Burnout results in exhaustion, reduced productivity, cynicism, and even withdrawal from careers in STEM. This issue needs to be recognized and addressed in order for all scientists to be healthy, productive, and successful. Luckily, there are concrete steps that can be taken to reduce burnout among scientists, particularly in students and post-docs. This webinar will outline the causes and symptoms, as well as 5 strategies that you can start implementing today to address or prevent burnout.
