The New York Academy of Sciences is proud to offer our STEM in New York Program from August 27-31, 2018. Over the course of five days, students in 5th-8th grades will explore NYC’s most famous sites and connect their significance with the fields of civil engineering, landscape architecture, and emerging technology. Students will meet professional scientists and work in teams to solve challenges that are inquiry based.

Over the course of this five-day STEM Program, students will gain:
- Leadership skills through STEM design challenges
- Communication techniques that allow them to share STEM concepts with their peers
- Scientific collaboration and engineering skills
- Teamwork and problem-solving experience
Students will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the program.
STEM in New York: Students will gain a better understanding for how science, technology, and engineering enliven the City that Never Sleeps. Field trips to some of NYC's landmarks will help enhance the learning experience.
Leadership and Teamwork: Students will learn the skills sets for leadership and how to be a good leader in the STEM world, with exposure to real world examples of teenagers who are STEM leaders. Students will practice their skills through a variety of hands-on challenges.
Field Trips: Students will learn the history and design behind some of NYC's most iconic landmarks which include walking tours of Central Park and Brooklyn Bridge.
Pricing: The STEM in New York Program is $600. Lunch and snacks are included in the program cost.
