Career Paths In Consulting and Beyond

Thursday, November 12, 2020, 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM EST

Webinar

Presented By

Science Alliance

Consulting is a popular route that many young scientists following their PhD or Postdoc take when transitioning out of Academia. It is a career path that is open to individuals coming from diverse professional degrees and backgrounds. It provides the opportunity to learn about the business side of companies, operations, strategy and implementation. It builds upon ones problem solving skills from being a trainee in Academia and learn project management, communications and partnership development skills. This opens up new professional opportunities for individuals to smoothly pivot in their careers.

During this webinar, you’ll hear from a panel of Scientists on the following topics:

  • Career growth of the Panel in Consulting.
  • What opportunities to seek when planning for a career in Consulting?
  • What are the glaring truths to consider when pursuing this career path?
  • What do you learn as a Consultant and what avenues does it expose you to?

Our Panelists, including Nick Edwards, Ph.D. and Julie Diamond, Ph.D. will share their career paths after graduating and how they have evolved in their respective paths.

If you have targeted questions you would like answers to – please email siyer@nyas.org and we will embed it during this conversation.

Join us for a networking event to ask the panelists your questions following the webinar at 6:00 PM.
