Screens were ubiquitous before, but during the COVID-19 pandemic they became a lifeline to our professional and personal lives. And children spend more time on electronic devices than ever before—with virtual school, video streaming, social media, and multiplayer games. Given that kid’s brains are still developing, should parents be concerned? What are the pros and cons of screen time? What are the long-term effects? Is there such a thing as too much screen time? What will happen to kids and teens in a post-COVID world—how will they adjust to a life with less screens? This panel will bring together experts in pediatrics, education, and digital media to discuss the effects of extensive screen time on the developing brain.
