As the political divide between liberals and conservatives has intensified, discussions of the upcoming presidential election have become increasingly heated. The rift between political camps seems almost too deep to cross, turning evidence-based debates of political agenda into screaming matches of ideological beliefs. How do these beliefs develop in our brains? Are there underlying neural correlates for liberalism and conservatism that can be measured with modern brain-imaging techniques? Would such neuroscientific evidence be useful for forecasting voting outcomes? Would it influence our political discourse? Join us for a panel discussion with experts in Social Psychology, Neuroscience, and Political Communications to answer these questions and more.
