CBD is one of more than a hundred chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant (cannabinoids). Enter any drugstore or street corner bodega and you will find CBD products - in shampoos, oils, vapes, gummies and even treats for people and pets. As ubiquitous the products as creative are the claims of the therapeutic benefits of CBD. It’s claimed to treat anything from pain, insomnia, and anxiety to skin conditions. However, what do we actually know about the therapeutic potential of cannabinoids? Is it effective? Is it safe? Is it legal? This panel will convene experts from the worlds of academia, pharma, and medicine to discuss the science behind cannabis-based medicines.
