The New York Academy of Sciences

The Academy will mark this special day—when 200 years ago our first meeting took place—with the opening of an exhibition in our lobby at 7 World Trade Center. Public presentation of an eighteen foot long physical timeline highlighting key events and people from 1817 to the present, a collection of framed historical artifacts from our archives, and other upgrades to our space will provide the main focus.

The event will also feature a presentation by historian Professor Simon Baatz, who will speak on the intertwining histories of science, the Academy, and New York City. Academy CEO and President Ellis Rubenstein, and Chair of the Board Paul Horn will also make brief remarks. Come learn about our fascinating history in a festive atmosphere including drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and music!

Please Note: This event is for Academy Members only
