STEM Scholars is an exciting new program that the New York Academy of Sciences is offering in partnership with United Technologies. Students that are 13-18 years old from around the world, who are interested in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), will receive a mentor to help them change the world through STEM. Students will complete coursework that emphasizes college readiness, leadership, communication and critical thinking. This is all completed at the student’s own pace. Mentees will participate in two virtual meetings a month with a one-on-one mentor, who is a STEM professional.
Mentors are needed to help fix the STEM skills gap. Mentors can inspire and motivate young minds to pursue their passion, learn new things and connect to a global network of like-minded professionals.
