Our Commitment to Science & Scientists from Around the World

On January 31, 2017, our President & CEO, Ellis Rubinstein, wrote a message to Members and the wider scientific community expressing our opposition to the President Trump's executive order on immigration. In that same letter, Mr. Rubinstein also noted that the Academy is prepared to do something about it, specifically through a soon to be announced initiative to support immigrant scientists, engineers, and students in the United States.

Since sending that initial letter, responses have poured in, with hundreds of people and organizations expressing an interest in supporting or being a part of the immigrant-focused initiative. In addition, the Academy has signed on as a supporter of the upcoming March for Science.
