Dear Academy Members and Supporters,
As Chair of the Board of Governors, as well as a career scientist and educator, I am exceedingly proud to recognize the Academy’s 201st birthday!
On this first day of our Third Century, we are reaching out to you--the extraordinary people who make up our network--because we believe that collective action in science and technology can be the world’s most powerful force for change. As we look toward the next 100 years, it is very clear that future generations of STEM leaders will face extraordinary challenges. That is why it is extremely important for us, the STEM professionals and supporters of TODAY, to invest in the innovators of TOMORROW.
To do this, the Academy has launched a THIRD CENTURY CAMPAIGN to support the expansion of collective action programs that are designed to build science literacy and support future innovators and problem-solvers around the world. Programs like our Global STEM Alliance, Science Alliance, Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists, and Frontiers of Science are inspiring STEM leaders from cradle to career, regardless of their economic background and geographic origin.
The THIRD CENTURY CAMPAIGN needs to raise an additional $50 million in mission critical funds by December 31, 2019 to advance our mission of promoting science-based solutions to today’s challenges and inspiring the innovators of tomorrow. YOU play an important role in the Academy’s Third Century, as like-minded individuals that believe our future depends on STEM literacy and innovation. Gifts from our network at all levels are significant, with benefits and recognition opportunities designed to honor the legacy of our network. Your support will educate, inspire, and provide opportunities in our Third Century. Thank you.
Warmest regards,
Paul Horn
