In-Person Professional Development: Scientist-in-Residence
The Scientist-in-Residence program pairs public school teachers with scientists to develop inquiry-based research projects for the classroom. By building partnerships between teachers and scientists, this innovative program gives students opportunities to engage in authentic, hands-on research, and provides teachers the critical support they need to bring scientific inquiry to life in the classroom. Online Professional Development
The Global STEM Alliance will launch a series of online professional development courses for K-12 educators in Fall/Winter 2019. The first course in this series will focus on developing an instructional unit for K–12 students aligned to the New York Academy of Sciences’ STEM Education Framework, titled STEM Instruction in the 21st Century. See below for our growing list of workshop offerings for groups of STEM educators. We are happy to host your group at the New York Academy of Sciences or deliver a workshop at your school or location. Each workshop takes place over a two-day period, and requires approximately 12 hours to complete.
