STEM Camp Partners
Our week-long STEM Programs take place during the day and are designed for middle school students, specifically those in grades 5 through 8. Each program is designed to engage students in hands on STEM experiences, which are guided by Academy scientists and staff. During the week, students have an opportunity to take a deep dive into STEM topics, take STEM-focused field trips, and connect with real scientists and engineers, all while making new friends!
Our STEM Programs are aligned to the New York City Public Education Department calendar and provide a safe, enriching option for working parents during school vacations.
Depending on their interests and aspirations, your children can choose from four unique topics:
Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge and our city's other iconic sites - you've been there before, but never like this. Learn and engage with the engineering practices that led to the architectural marvels of the past and present, understand how NYC wildlife fares in our major park, and test your STEM design skills in a bridge-building competition.
It's coding with an agricultural twist. Learn how to write programs that can monitor garden health and activity through the use of simple sensors, check out some of our city's most innovative urban gardens, and expand your STEM skills through a range of indoor and outdoor activities.
Expand your problem-solving toolkit with EMPATHY and imagination. Identify a real-world topic you are passionate about, experience the multiple steps of design thinking, and learn how to address major challenges through creativity.
The Academy provides in-person STEM programming for students in grades 3-12 (8 - 17 years of age).
The New York Academy of Sciences has a long history of delivering enriching educational experiences to students in New York City. Students work alongside our team of educators and other STEM professionals. A 1:10 staffing ratio allows instructors to give individual attention to each child.
Registration is now closed for STEM programs. Please reach out to Celina Morgan-Standard with any inquiries.
