Support our Third Century

For 201 years—since 1817—the Academy has brought together extraordinary people working at the frontiers of discovery. Now, as we enter our Third Century, we are looking ahead to the next 100 years. How will our planet tackle grand challenges such as mitigating global warming, delivering sustainable economic growth, and ending hunger and malnutrition? Our future depends on scientific and technological innovation, but to deliver future innovation, we must begin investing in the innovators of tomorrow, TODAY.

We believe that collective action in science and technology is the world’s most powerful force for change.

As many educators have observed, STEM talent is equally distributed throughout society, but opportunity is not. With your help, we can continue expanding collective action programs to build science literacy and support future innovators and problem-solvers, regardless of their economic background or geographic origin:

  • The Global STEM Alliance is matching kids around the world with STEM mentors, to inspire a lifelong passion for science and technology.
  • Each year, our Science Alliance program helps thousands of graduate students and postdocs as they embark on successful and rewarding STEM careers.
  • Programs like the Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists and the Innovators in Science Award are recognizing and supporting brilliant young investigators early in their careers, when they need it the most.
  • Our 100+ symposia, webinars, and events are bringing the latest innovations and cutting-edge research to broader audiences, including communities of experts and the general public.

Your Third Century gift will help us promote science-based solutions to today's challenges and educate and inspire the innovators of tomorrow. Please become a part of our Third Century, today.
