    Online teaching and virtual learning are transforming higher education. Ranging from hybrid courses that offer a combination of in-person and online instruction, to fully online experiences, higher education professors will be required to use some form of virtual learning in the future.

    While options for teaching online have rapidly expanded, the training of educators to use these platforms has not kept pace. This workshop is designed to provide science educators with an introduction to the plethora of online teaching platforms and tools that they can use to enhance student learning.

    In this interactive workshop you will learn about:

    • Different models of online learning
    • The variety of platforms that can be used to teach science virtually
    • Best practices in teaching a science course online

    You will also learn how to create an interactive discussion forum in an online class that you intend to teach.
