
Kaari Casey is the senior program manager for virtual programs at the New York Academy of Sciences. She oversees the Global STEM Alliance's portfolio of virtual STEM education programs including The Junior Academy and 1000 Girls, 1000 Futures. These programs engage thousands of students and STEM professionals in over 100 countries in STEM education and 21st Century skill building. Through these programs, students and mentors connect with one another online and via Launchpad, the Academy’s own collaboration platform, and work towards developing solutions which address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Kaari joins the Academy from the City Parks Foundation, where she spent 5 years developing both in- school and out-of-school STEM education programs for New York City youth. She has extensive experience in environmental and conservation-based education and has worked with a variety of organizations including the Wildlife Conservation Society, Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, and the National Network for Ocean and Climate Change Interpretation. Kaari received her BS in Secondary Education and Biology from Penn State University and her MA in Biology from Miami University.
