Nutrition Science Programs

Our Mission

The New York Academy of Sciences is dedicated to advancing nutrition science research and knowledge, and applying our work in the field to mobilize communities. Taking a collective action approach, our initiatives address micronutrient deficiencies, obesity, adolescent nutrition in low income areas, the use of electronic health records for public health, and other pressing issues in the field of nutrition.

Translating science into public use is our ultimate goal. It accompanies everything we do.

Work With Us

Our Nutrition Science Programs offer numerous options for organizations and individuals who wish to work with us, and our partnership guidelines provide a rigorous and transparent framework for managing cross-sectoral relationships and conflict of interest disclosure.

Need Answers? We Can Help…

We partner with organizations to seek answers on a variety of topics across the nutrition spectrum. By facilitating brainstorming among diverse groups, assessing or synthesizing evidence, building consensus, designing roadmaps and preparing scientific manuscripts for publication, we can build solutions that use nutrition science for public health.

Work with us to develop a project calibrated to your needs. Contact us at nutrition@nyas.org

Partner With Us on Nutrition-Related Events

As a Presenting Partner

Presenting partners provide substantial financial support for a scientific conference or a technical workshop.  Roles and responsibilities are formally laid out in a Letter of Agreement, and partners are closely associated with content development in collaboration with the Scientific Organizing Committee. As a presenting partner, your organization will be entitled to:

  • Nominate a scientist with relevant expertise to the Scientific Organizing Committee
  • Be acknowledged on event marketing and enduring materials (if applicable)
  • Receive a complimentary 1-year Corporate Membership to the New York Academy of Sciences, with a set of sponsored Membership slots which can be assigned to individual members of your staff
  • Allocate 5–20 complimentary event registrations (depending on contribution level) for key stakeholders, affiliates, or employees

Note that partners are not permitted to promote their products during the conference, or in conference communications. Unless all costs are defrayed by a presenting partner, the Academy has full autonomy to seek additional support.

As an Event Sponsor

Sponsors provide financial support in furtherance of an already established scientific conference or working group (topic is decided and scientific organizing committee has been assembled). Sponsors receive corresponding recognition for their support in live and enduring activity materials related to the conference, but are not engaged in activity development. The role of the sponsor is clearly stated alongside the support they provide. Sponsors gain visibility among an engaged, influential audience with an active interest in science-based nutrition policy.
