The Academy is also a green event space, giving your event a unique character in today's world. Not only is 7 World Trade Center one of the first LEED-certified buildings in the city, we also partner with green vendors and are striving to achieve more sustainable meeting practices.
Our state-of-the-art facility, located on the 40th floor of 7 World Trade Center, features breathtaking views of the New York City skyline and comprises four magnificent event spaces.
Our versatility will enable you to host events for up to 300 in The Kayden Auditorium, receptions for 225 in our stylish Lobby, gatherings for as many as 80 guests in the Conference Room, and high-level meetings of up to 50 guests in the Boardroom.
Each of our spaces features striking design elements, highly flexible configurations and the latest in audio-visual technology, serviced by the Academy's technical staff.
All meeting rooms feature a variety of lighting options, electronic sun and blackout shades, pull-down screens, built-in front screen projectors, built-in audio and video recording equipment, teleconferencing capability, wireless access, as well as a podium and mic. A wide variety of audio visual equipment is also available.
The New York Academy of Sciences is also conveniently located in downtown Manhattan, at the center of a major transportation hub.
LEEDing the Way
7 World Trade Center was one of the first projects accepted to be part of the U.S. Green Building Council's Pilot Program for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - Core and Shell Development, and is one of the city's first gold-certified LEED buildings.
Restaurant Associates is one of the foremost caterers for both corporate and social events around the country, and is the exclusive caterer at the New York Academy of Sciences. They always strive to incorporate both a passion for food and an obsession for detail in all their creations.
Some recent events catered by RA include opening night at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the re-opening of Alice Tully Hall, the National Design Awards Gala, Ralph Lauren's fashion show, the American Ballet Theatre Opening Gala, and a private event for MAC Cosmetics.
Restaurant Associates works to create fresh, seasonal and inspiring menus for every occasion. They have numerous menus available for our space and can work with you to develop custom menus tailored specifically to your needs and the themes of your event. In addition, Restaurant Associates is also working with the Academy to develop a selection of menus that feature local, organic foods to help in our mission to develop green meeting standards.
